Ad laetam

Ad laetam
We find in paradise, in Eden and in this magnificent place lives a wonderful and white creature, who delights in picking the flowers of this fantastic garden. She is the representation of happiness, of the lost human condition, of that time when man was not a slave to time and matter. Her main concern is picking flowers, making herself even more beautiful with the fruits of that enchanted meadow. Nothing affects her, happiness reigns supreme in the woman of Eden. Only by meeting this creature, admiring her beauty, contemplating her eyes, as bright as two stars, we can understand the true meaning of happiness. The happiness of the soul, not the fleeting happiness of worldly life. This path that began following my teacher, Emanuele Dascanio, was a path towards happiness. And to achieve happiness you must first descend into the depths of yourself, face your limits, listen to your heart, connect it to your mind and your hand, which manages to give shape to beauty through the pencil. A beauty that must be built without haste, slowly, veil by veil. Only harmony between mind, heart and hand makes great things possible. Making this triad coexist and keep it together is an important exercise, but it certainly leads to "ad laetam", to happiness! "Ad laetam" for me represents the awareness, after having descended into the darkness of the soul, that the human being must not be a slave neither time nor space to regain lost happiness, because happiness is the only thing that transcends us from this world. We were made "seguir virtute e canoscenza" (to follow virtue and knowledge, Dante Alighieri), and the only way we have to achieve this is to strive for happiness!
