Day’s End

Painted en plein air in oils.

During the September STRADA challenge, I had challenged myself to paint plein air everyday. Of course, I was always looking for something inspirational or memorable. This sunset caught my eye and I quickly got to painting it. Perspective is from the road but painted at a safe distance.

Process: Because of limited time, I quickly mixed my colors to match the sky and clouds. This helped me to just apply paint and blend easily. I just love water reflections on the road after a rain storm.
