I was inspired by this young woman I saw at the famous Pike's Market getting her coffee while making her living in an overwhelmingly male dominated field. She holds her own! I painted this in my studio in oil on linen from several photo references I took catching this moment as she was surrounded by the light from the windows and talking to this old man behind the counter. Is he a relative? Is he giving advise?
