The college where I teach is host to one of the top test rose gardens in the country. Every semester I take my students to the garden for some plein air painting experience. I have taken hundreds of photos of this garden over the years. This painting is from a photo I took in April 2023; these are the climbing roses that are often missed by the visitors to the garden. I was enamored of the light and shadows cast onto the wall. This painting is oil on linen panel.
