VARSANG EN TANQUE VERDE was my first oil painting. The piece is my romantic western take on a room that I came upon, while touring the historic Tucson, Tanque Verde Ranch. The room was stark, the light was intriguing, and I began to envision a a romantic past. Fancying myself as an ‘accidental cowgirl’ painter, I created the vision by adding my husband’s hat, my boots and sheet music, and the lace curtains. The cowboy showed up and a sweet young maiden all the way from Sweden, played until he stayed.
