The Divide at High Noon

This large oil landscape features a remote hiking trail that leads through the forest and up to the base of one of the mountains on the continental divide. The breath-taking mountain peak seems to reach almost to the sky, and reflects the bright light of the early morning as well as the majestic colors of the mountain itself. On this warm sunny day, the sunshine is coming down, radiating from the sky, down from the top of the mountain, through the lower mountain areas, across the valley and finally flooding onto the inviting trail. The warmth of the day depicted invites the viewer to walk or sit and soak up the sunbeams and the harmony that nature has provided, showing the goodness of this world.
