Summer in Rockford

This summer I created several plein air studies of floral scenes in outdoor lighting gearing up for my first solo show in 2024. The wild flowers along the river path in the tranquil city of Rockford, Michigan are overwhelmingly beautiful during this time of year. I started this painting, "Summer in Rockford" in plein air, along with another composition standing from a different vantage point looking in the opposite direction. The two paintings share a familiar mood that I feel represents the setting in a symbolic way.
