My husband and I spent the night anchored near Smuttynose Island at the Isles of Shoals, and awoke to a gorgeous sunrise. I grabbed my paints and easel to capture the soft morning light before it hardened into a bright sunlit day. It was a first try at painting on board the boat, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, despite the challenges of a deck that rocked with passing vessels, and shifting currents that changed the scene.
