This piece was inspired by an evening in Rome this past June. I was walking along the Tiber and as I was approaching the Ponte Sisto, the sunlight was making it glow, and a shadow from a nearby tree fell across it. I was drawn not only to the architecture, but also to the patterns of light and shadow. I completed this using oils on a linen panel.
