I painted this on a rainy day; you can see the rain drops in the paint. This is a very South Carolina Lowcountry scene, with the heavy tropical-looking undergrowth along the walls of an old clapboard structure. In this case the owner of the property said it had been a kitchen once upon a time. Now it is being used as a storage shed. This is on Edisto Island in South Carolina. I was interested in the play of the red roof, a common sight on these historic structures, against the green of the foliage.
